111 East Dorsey Lane
 

On December 7th 2010 at 8:39 PM, Fairview was dispatched for a structure fire at 111 East Dorsey Lane. The Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response advised the on duty lieutenant of 41-11 that they were receiving multiple calls on this fire with people possibly trapped. The officer immediately requested additional resources while still enroute to the scene. Upon arrival the house was heavily involved with fire. A second alarm was requested at 8:45 PM. Firefighters made multiple attempts to search the residence for occupants. One resident of the house suffered fatal injuries and several others had minor injuries. Fairview was assisted on scene by the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department, the Roosevelt Fire District, the Arlington Fire District, the Pleasant Valley Fire District, Mobile Life Support Services, the Hyde Park Police, the Dutchess County Sheriffs and the New York State Police. Numerous other fire departments provided standby coverage. Firefighters were on scene until 4:42 AM. The fire was investigated by the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division and the Dutchess County Sheriffs Office. The cause of the fire was determined to be from smoking materials on a porch.
