11.10.14 : LEGAL NOTICE


DECEMBER 9, 2014

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Annual Election of the Fairview Fire District will take place on December 9th, 2014, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Fairview Firehouse located at 258 Violet Avenue, Route 9-G, Poughkeepsie, New York, for the purpose of electing: 1) one fire district commissioner for a 5 year term, commencing on January 1, 2015 and ending on December 31, 2019

All duly registered residents of the Fairview Fire District shall be eligible to vote.

Absentee Ballot Applications are available on the District Website and at the Firehouse. Such application must be received by the district secretary seven days or sooner before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter or his or her agent. Candidates for the District Offices shall file their names with the Secretary of the Fairview Fire District, Cathy Gallinger, at the Fairview Firehouse, 258 Violet Avenue, Route 9-G, Poughkeepsie, New York, no later than November 19, 2014 prior to 3 PM.

The Fairview Fire District is located in Dutchess County, New York. We protect the Northern part of the Town of Poughkeepsie and the Southern part of the Town of Hyde Park in New York. The district is four and a half square miles large. There are homes, businesses, colleges, schools, health care facilities and more in the district. Protection is provided by a combination career and volunteer staff. To learn more, see About Us.
